Ingredientes:

1kg de abóbora

1kg de açúcar

500 ml água

cravo-da-índia a gosto

canela em pau (2 pauzinhos está bom para essa quantidade)

1 colher (sopa) rasa de cal virgem (10g)

Modo de fazer

Descasque e corte a abóbora em cubos. Lave e cubra os pedaços com 2 litros de água e a cal virgem. Reserve por 30 minutos no mínimo (tem receitas que deixam de molho por 2 horas… escolha entre esse tempo). Descarte a água, lave bem para tirar a cal (mas não é tóxico… não se preocupe) e escalde em água fervente, rapidamente sem cozinhar. Escorra, deixe esfriar um pouco. Reserve.

Ferva o açúcar com 500 ml de água o cravo e a canela até ponto de fi o fraco (quando a calda fica amarelada). Adicione a abóbora e cozinhe, em fogo baixo, até ficar bem macia e a calda adquirir ponto de mel. Desligue e deixe essa panela tampada até o dia seguinte (de preferência). O doce com a cal fica durinho por fora e macio por dentro, mas pode fazer sem cal… fica saboroso do mesmo jeito.

Se quiser pode acrescentar coco ralado grosso e deixar cozinhar bem para a abóbora desmanchar e ficar bem misturada com o coco.
